About Coach Dish
Born and brought up in the fiery streets of Mumbai, with nothing but an obsession with playing sports…
I often get asked, "How I got started in this?"
I have been insanely in love with playing sport for as long as I can remember. I was terrible at everything else. However, when I played any sport, everything else faded away. So naturally, when I got the opportunity to train for Cricket formally after failing to make my school team aged 15, I pounced on it. Finally, I had found what I wanted in life. I discovered my purpose!
Soon, I started experiencing flow-like states while playing Cricket; they were almost spiritual states of being. My father held an administrative position at the local Jain temple for more than a decade; this meant I would frequently visit it and meet different monks and nuns that would plant the seeds of Spirituality in me. I adamantly believe that my flow states resulted from combinations of my fitness, love for my sport, meditation, and spiritual teachings.
Being a below-average student all my life, aged 17, I failed my first year in college (Equivalent to A-Levels). With that, everything went away; support from my family, friends, self-esteem, and purpose. However, I wasn’t going to budge from traditional education, and after a couple of difficult teenage years, I took a Personal Training course.
My fascination for science had only just begun. After doing numerous online courses in Football Management, Football Scouting, Sports Science, Sports Nutrition, and Sport Psychology from various institutions worldwide, I got my first shot at a well-recognized institute based in the U.K. I received a Post-Graduate Diploma in Performance Nutrition and became an accredited sports nutritionist by the international society of sports nutrition. I briefly started my business in 2016 when at the age of 24, I got an offer from Coventry University to study BSc. Sport and Exercise Science. I was flying!
Towards the end of my 2nd year, I received the excellent news that I would be working with Fulham Football Club. To work with an English football club was the 5-year goal I set at age 23, and I achieved it when I was 26. Working in a high-performance environment with high-performing athletes and staff, I was in my zone!
After the pandemic hit, I moved back to India, and since then, I have been working on myself. Since October 2020, I have watched countless documentaries, podcasts, and series and completed more than 20+ courses related to psychology, mindset, meditation, productivity, business, marketing, neuroscience, and Spirituality. I extensively read about philosophy, neuroscience, and sports science daily, and I am convinced that;
“All Of Us Have The Potential To Be World-Class And The Only Thing Holding Us Back Are Our Minds And Limiting Beliefs.”
So why do I Coach?
People don’t realize that I am not naturally gifted when it comes to any areas of life besides sport. All the decisions, money, and time invested in becoming well informed is to be the person I didn’t have growing up. I am still trying to be the coach, the person, and the leader that I wanted in my life. Now let me be that person for you. I love psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, and sport, but my gift is coaching people (connecting with them, understanding them, and helping them grow.) That’s my primary focus.
And I happen to be very good at it.
“All Of us Have The Potential To Be World-Class And The Only Thing Holding Us Back Are Our Minds And Limiting Beliefs.”
